Hey you remember when things were much simpler then. Living off the crops in October. Turning a new leaf over. Hay, oats, chickens, horses. I always got bucked off of course. What doesn't kill you only makes you regret that you never wore a helmet. I remember friday nights; Goodnight Irene by the firelight Pauline on Piano, my Daddy playin on his banjo These are such fogey tunes so I was stuck up in my room dreamin of a better life but why. Guess I'm a country boy with the city on my mind Friends never came around. They had a lot more fun in town. I was stuck entertaining myself Wishin I was somebody else. If I was a townie like the rest Wouldn't that just be the best. Not stuck in the country bitchin' that we only got peasant vision. We got a fuzzy CBC a little CTV and some french TV Mama told me to read more books Stop playin Nintendo, but I was hooked. If I was in town we'd be ridin bikes to the corner store in the dark of night. Buyin all the candy we could find. Guess I'm a country boy with the city on my mind. Runnin through an open field Never seemed like such a big deal. The city lights were the measure of my dreams. Always wanted to be city bread, guess I'm a country bum instead It's funny how things turn out so it seems. Lookin back at all I got, Man I was one lucky snot. Now I live in a closet. Payin bills feelin nauseous. City lights burnin red, the sirens ringin in my head. Wishin I was back there all the time Guess I'm a city boy with the country on my mind Guess I'm a city boy with the country on my mind I just wanna see that country one more time.

Stir Crazy 03:36
Well I finally got her back gonna kick it in gear. Locked and loaded got the bass and tweeters pumpin out the rear this '89 Chevy is purring right There's a block heater sitting by the dashboard light A hundred miles pluggin through that oil sand pouch I got Fort Mac in the back and I'm a headin' South Gave my boss a verbal notice and handed in my drill Dusted off my overalls got my cash from the till He's been givin me hell since I can't forget That wishing well whipped me through a lot of regrets Still thawing my fingers from the early the freeze It's minus 40 in the sunshine with the summer breeze Chorus Lookin for kicks wherever I'm bound Scratchin at the door like a rabid hound Rubber squealin, diesel burnin I'm a dust cyclone Stir crazy baby never comin home Got money in my pocket a trunk full of dreams This time I'll get my ends no matter the means I got an old six string, it plays real loud So set 'em up Joe I got a hungry crowd I got 12 bars of blues I gotta play tonight Line em up ladies if you wanna bite Chorus Living off drive throughs motel rooms and parking lots

Slowdance 04:59
It's been a long time since we made love I know you're thinking, am I strong enough I can remember when we first kissed Cause every time this song plays it's you I miss Baby let's go back to the days of bliss The disco ball would spin I'd pull you in, we're in a trance Let's go back to another school slow dance I can remember when they used to play Stairway to Heaven Those were the days, You were always dancing with another guy, I was just hoping, you would catch my eye Matt and Pat were moshing at the back Nicole and Kristine getting caught getting drunk The nerds and the geeks doing D and D deals in the can I was hoping, Lord I was hoping That maybe you and me, I'd be your man The disco ball would spin I'd pull you in, we're in a trance Let's go back to another school slow dance I know going back there seems like a cliche fantasy It doesn't mean that much to you baby, but it means a lot to me Put your sequins on and let's get some November Rain Remember the good times, forget the pain, yeah The disco ball would spin I'd pull you in we're in a trance baby let's go back to another school slow dance

Weicome to my world It's never too late Welcome to my world It's never too late

Burned night wide open you put your heart where your mouth has spoken love light in a shelter between money and time, and I'm broken she'll take your mind wrap it up in a bind and entwine you it's your turn, your line You search your heart for your mind, you can't find it Don't live a lie Don't live a lie When you're out there runnin And you can hear them gunnin Everybody's havin fun But you're on the run she'll take your mind wrap it up in a bind and entwine you it's your turn, your line You search your heart for your mind, you can't find it Don't live a lie Don't live a lie When you're out there runnin And you can hear them gunnin Everybody's havin fun But you're on the run

Side Dish 04:19
Ain't got time for a full time lover barely time to make the grind barely time to make your supper let me help you I don't mind. Don't get me wrong you ain't cheatin on nobody You've got your things you've got to do Just remember to save a little room on your plate When I come through. Work gets hard and time gets tight Gotta satisfy your appetite Gotta loosen up your schedule Need a little bit of me with your vegetables Look for me I'm on the top shelf Look for me, I'll be there. Don't gotta wait but 5 minutes honey. You know I come preprepared. I wanna be your side dish come on over let me be your uncle ben's Side dish, let me tuck you in Side dish, baby I'll treat you right Side dish, you can be my chicken tonight Turn up the heat I'm bout to boil. You don't have to had no oil You know I'm greased up as it is come on over add a little bit of your biz. Reach for me I'm on the top shelf Reach for me I'll be there Throw me in that pot now honey Stir me up before I scare. I wanna be your side dish come on over let me be your uncle ben's Side dish, let me tuck you in Side dish, baby I'll treat you right Side dish, you can be my chicken tonight

about

This album is composed of the best songs that I have written in the last five years. It is the first of many to come. I wanted to give a little piece of what I'm about and the influences that I have had over the years. By no means a magnum opus, but perhaps can be described as a robust oeuvre. I hope you enjoy it!
