This song is semi-biographical. It brings us back to the old days of living in the country and wanting so much as a kid to be part of the excitement that the city has to offer. Then growing up and realizing that what you grew up with was the best.

things were much simpler then.
Living off the crops in October.
Turning a new leaf over.
Hay, oats, chickens, horses.
I always got bucked off of course.
What doesn't kill you only makes you regret
that you never wore a helmet.
I remember friday nights;

These are such fogey tunes
so I was stuck up in my room

Friends never came around.
